Cutting funding for programs that provide culturally relevant comprehensive sexuality education to approximately 3000 young people and 200 parents in Multnomah County each year is unacceptable.

NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon(NPCO) and the Oregon Foundation for Reproductive Health(OFRH) stand with Multnomah County, and other grantee organizations, as they appeal the federal decision to cut critical funding to the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program. Not only is the early termination to this grant award erroneous, but the removal of funds established for middle and high school students, their parents, and teachers in five school districts, to prevent unintended pregnancies and teach healthy relationship skills is egregious.
